How good does it feel to hear some new Florence + the Machine since “Lungs” 2009 triumph? Let’s be honest, I absolutely adore Florence but was becoming a little squeamish with the anticipation of something unfamiliar. Then BANG, we got it – Florence tweeted to her fans “Hello interworld, I’m out of the studio and into the sunshine! Pop over to my website at 5pm tomorrow for a peek at something very special x”.
The perfect thing about the new release of “What The Water Gave Me” is how freaking good it is. The video begins a tiny bit slow with a folky feel but trust me near the end your heart will be palpitating as she again awes you when she howls it into full tilt. Long live Florence!
“What the Water Gave Me,” the first video from Florence and the Machine’s still-untitled second album, finds singer Florence Welch and her band pushing their secular gospel sound to an explosive extreme. The song, which was produced by Adele and Cee Lo Green collaborator Paul Epworth, is overwhelming in its bombast, yet delicate in its sonic detail. The album is due sometime in November, but the single is available in digital stores now.”
